Fisheries in Sub-Saharan Africa is an interactive CD that provides information and data on various aspects of fisheries and fishing communities in 25 countries of the Sub-Saharan regiob. These countries are partners in the Sustainable Fisheries Livelihoods Programme (SFLP) of the Department of International Development for the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (DFID) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations The CD contains geographic and sociodemographic profiles of the 25 countries as well as information on their fishery resources, fishing communities and fishworkers, fish processing and trade, fisheries legislation and fishery agreements. The information is provided in the form of interactive maps, charts and printer friendly PDF (Portable document format) files that can viewed with acrobat reader. The CD also contains video clips and still images that illustrate several of the fishery-related issues pertaining to the region.
