It was launched in September 2010, with an initial focus on the third Global Symposium on Gender and Aquaculture and Fisheries (GAF3), to be held on 21-22 April, 2011. This symposium will take place during the Ninth Asian Fisheries and Aquaculture Forum, to be held in China between 21 to 25 April.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">The site provides updated information about the upcoming symposium. It also provides a wide range of resources, including fishery-related news from different parts of the world. A glossary of terms on gender in fisheries and aquaculture is also provided to help users understand the difference in some of the important terms such as gender equity and gender equality.
