It covers 114 legal instruments, categorized into the following seven themes: (1) Human Rights, Food Security, Women and Development; (2) Environment and Sustainable Development; (3) Oceans and Fisheries Management; (4) Environmental Pollution; (5) Fishing Vessels and Safety at Sea; (6) Labour; and (7) Trade.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; line-height: normal; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">The handbook also includes the working of the instruments (decision-making bodies, monitoring and implementation agencies, periodicity of meetings, rules for participation in meetings of the decision-making bodies and implementation agencies for States and non-governmental organizations), regional instruments\/agencies and follow-up. Apart from being a ready reckoner to the instruments, it highlights the important sections of relevance to fisheries\/ small-scale fisheries\/ fishworkers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\"><span style=\"line-height: 115%;\">The companion <\/span><span style=\"line-height: 115%;\">CD-ROM <\/span><span style=\"line-height: 115%;\">provides the full texts of the instruments in a searchable database. The handbook will be useful for fishworker and non-governmental organizations, and also for researchers and others interested in fisheries issues.
