Kerala, having only 590 km coast line quiet often became one of the leading fish producing States in India and a record production of 8.4 lakhs tones of fish was landed in 2012 and that constitute 21.3% share of the total marine fish production of India in that year. The territorial waters is that 87% of the total marine fish resources in the EEZ are available in the shallow waters up to the depth range of 0-100 meter and the rest is widely scattered in the deeper waters.<\/p>\r\n
