Two Ghanian fishermen who were involved in a boat mishap on the high sea in Lagos area, have been rescued by the Nigerian\u00a0 Navy Ship, NNS PROSPERITY, 48 hours after the incident..<\/p>\n
Four of the\u00a0 fishermen residing\u00a0 at\u00a0 Takwa\u00a0 Bay, Lagos,\u00a0 went\u00a0 fishing\u00a0 on\u00a0 Sunday\u00a0 July 31,\u00a0 2022\u00a0 but\u00a0 encountered\u00a0 a\u00a0 boat\u00a0 mishap\u00a0 at\u00a0 about\u00a0 10pm.<\/p>\n
Two of them drowned before help could come while the remaining two stayed afloat on a keg until the second day, before they were rescued.<\/p>\n
Explaining how the fishermen were rescued, the Director , Naval Information,\u00a0\u00a0 Commodore\u00a0 Adedotun Ayo- Vaughan , said, \u201d NNS\u00a0 PROSPERITY.\u00a0 while on patrol\u00a0 about\u00a0 10\u00a0 nautical\u00a0 miles\u00a0 (nm)\u00a0 North\u00a0 East of\u00a0 Dangote\u00a0 Quay\u00a0 on\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 August 2, 2022,\u00a0 sighted\u00a0 a\u00a0 man\u00a0 floating\u00a0 at\u00a0 sea\u00a0 on\u00a0 a\u00a0 yellow\u00a0 20\u00a0 litres\u00a0 gallon.<\/p>\n
