This theme provides information on four binding instruments, four non-binding conference declarations and three plans of action. The instruments make specific reference to conservation and sustainable use of inland, marine and coastal biodiversity, including fisheries resources and protection of aquatic species, and highlight the importance of fishing communities participating in decision-making processes to manage such resources.
