Minister for Fisheries and Dairy Development T Srinivas Yadav said that Rs 399 crore would be released for rearing sheep, goats, fish and dairy development under the National Cooperative Development Corporation scheme. Addressing a meeting with the representatives of the occupational groups at the Pragathi Bhavan in the town on Monday, he said that the vacant posts in the department of Animal Husbandry would be filled up in another four months. He said that the cattle would also be provided with medical help and deploying vehicles in remote villages. The Minister said that under Mission Kakatiya, all the tanks in the district would be filled up and fish would be released in such tanks by giving 100 percent subsidy to the farmers. He said that that training would eb provided to the youth in aqua-culture and Rs 101 crore would be released for enhancing the production of fish. Srinivas Yadav said that Rs 3 lakhs ex-gratia would be released for the families of fishermen who died. He said that 28 fisheries development centres would eb setup in the district. He cautioned the members of the occupational groups that they should not be misled by leaders who stay in Hyderabad claiming to be their well wishers. Such leaders should remain in the district and look after the welfare of the members of the occupational groups., he added. District Collector Yogitha Rana said that fodder would be cultivated in 4,000 acres of agricultural land in the district and funds would be released for the purpose.For each acre of land, the government would bear Rs 11,000, she added. Agriculture Minister P Srinivas Reddy, Zilla parishad chairman Damodar Babu, MLC member Rajeshwar and MLA B Ganesh Gupata and others were present.
