A Sri Lankan court Monday further remanded 11 Tamil Nadu fishermen arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy earlier this month for poaching in the island’s territorial seas. Kayts Magistrate Court extended the remand of the 11 fishermen till December 9, Rameswaram Fishermen’s Association President P Sesuraja said, according to Indian media. Sri Lanka Navy arrested the eleven fishermen along with two Indian fishing trawlers while fishing in Sri Lankan waters northwest of Delft Island on 18 November.
