The Sri Lanka government has decided to increase the fuel subsidy granted to fishermen. Accordingly, the kerosene subsidy has been increased from 250 litres to 375 litres and the diesel subsidy has been increased up to hundred litres.

The Department of Information stated that the President instructed to increase the subsidies.

The Deputy Minister of State Resources and Entrepreneurship Development Sarath Gunarathna stated that the government decided to grant more relief to fishermen following a meeting held with fishermen, today.
