A 6.1-magnitude earthquake has struck off the south coast of Japan’s main Honshu island, but no tsunami warning has been issued.
The quake hit an area around 600 kilometres south of Tokyo, at a depth of 424 kilometres.
Tokyo and its suburban Kanto region was also rocked by minor tremors, but there are no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
