The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed that summer rain with thunder and wind are likely to continue in the state in the coming days. Central and south Kerala might get heavy rainfall

Yellow alert was announced in five districts yesterday including Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki and Ernakulam. The alert will continue in Pathanamthitta and Idukki as heavy rainfall is predicted in these districts. There is also a possibility of isolated thunder showers and strong winds of up to 40 kilometer per hour (kmph). IMD has also informed that there is a possibility of light rain at isolated places in Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kannur.

Fishermen and coastal residents have been warned to be cautious as there is a possibility of swell waves and storm surges along the Kerala coast. A ban on fishing has been imposed on Kerala and Lakshadweep coast today and tomorrow. There is no restriction on fishing on the coast of Karnataka.

30.05.2023 to 31.05.2023: Chance of gusty winds and bad weather over Kanyakumari coast and South Tamil Nadu coast with speed up to 40 to 45 kmph and up to 55 kmph at some occasions.

01.06.2023 to 02.06.2023: Chance of gusty winds and bad weather over south Tamil Nadu coast, Gulf of Mannar and south west Sri Lankan region with a speed of 40 to 45 kmph and up to 55 kmph at some occasions. Fishing is not allowed in above mentioned date and area.
