The Fisheries Department, in association with the Kerala State Cooperative Federation for Fisheries Development (Matsyafed), will collect information on fishermen’s groups and various kinds of fishing gears used by them. Fishermen’s cooperative societies should furnish details in the stipulated form. Information pertaining to the boat, engine, net are to be provided along with details of fishermen in each group. Forms will be available free-of-cost at fishermen’s cooperative bodies. They have to be submitted by August 27. Permits for kerosene and other benefits for fishermen will be distributed on the basis of data provided in the form, a press release said on Saturday.
