The state directorate of fisheries, through Goa Electronic Ltd (GEL), has developed a software for end-to-end digitisation for its schemes for fishermen. The service was launched at the hands of fisheries minister Nilkant Halarnkar and speaker Ramesh Tawadkar under Goa Online on the UMANG portal.

Schemes such as financial assistance for the purchase of fisheries requisites (gill nets with accessories, financial assistance for the purchase or construction of new FRP, or wooden crafts for traditional fishermen) can be accessed on this portal.

Users will be able to apply for a service from anywhere, anytime, through a single window. Also, SMS and email-based notifications will be sent, ensuring time-bound, transparent service delivery. The portal will also enable online submission of applications and documents, and online issuance of sanction orders. Real-time tracking of applications will be made available. Also, a central repository for offline and online applications is being maintained. The technology is integrated with the smiley feedback system for recording citizen feedback.
