The shortage of fuel has affected fishermen in Sri Lanka, as some fishermen have not gone to sea for almost a week, due to having no kerosene for boats.

The Fishermen say that there are people without food, while some fishermen have not gone to sea for about a week, due to the non-availability of fuel at filling stations.

Other fishermen say that they have been in queues for six or seven days, as they are unable to go fishing.

” The price of fish will increase to Rs. 5,000 if this continues. There won’t be food to eat,” a fisherman said.

Many multi-day fishing trawlers in Negombo and Chilaw have also been anchored along the coast, and fishermen continue to say that they are facing difficulties in purchasing diesel.
