The second construction phase of the Academy of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences of Namibe is expected to start next January and finish by the end of the year 2013.
The information was disclosed this Saturday during the visit that the Vice-President, Manuel Vicente, paid to at the facilities.
The minister of Fisheries, Victoria de Barros Neto Christopher, who revealed the fact, informed that the negotiations are underway with Polish partners for project implementation.
She said that this second phase is valued at USD 70 million, including the equipment and the completion of the first phase, structural works, training of specialised teachers, vessels for training and external arrangements.
The works of the Academy of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences began in June 2008 and are part of six buildings with several faculties, with highlight to that of fisheries, fish processing and exploitation of aquatic resources, as well as the faculties of physics, mathematics, chemistry and computer science.
Courses of electricity and electronics engineering, marine electro-automation marine, coastal management, engineering, navigation, operation of ports and fleets, mechatronic refrigeration engineering, computing, technical drawing and communication equipment electronics, fish processing, aquaculture and oceanography will be lectured at the aforesaid faculties.
Several ministers and secretaries of state and provincial parliamentarians of the Namibe constituency are part of the entourage of the Vice-President in this two-day visit to the province.
