About 3,000 acres between Visakhapatnam and Bheemunipatnam have been blocked without development owing to the Coastal Regulatory Zone norms and a survey has been taken up by National Institute of Oceanography. This may pave the way for freeing around 2,000 acres, HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said on Saturday. Addressing the media at the VUDA office on various activities taken up by it, he said a tentative design for a flyover at NAD at an estimated cost of Rs.110 crore was being considered. Marking for roads at the Education City proposed at Sabbavaram was completed. On the sports stadium being developed at Gandigundam on the lines of the Gachibowli facility, he said that four consultants had submitted designs. The Chief Minister had been apprised of it. The built-up area ranged from 11 lakh sft to 25 lakh sft (with hotel and other amenities). The estimated cost ranged from Rs.210 crore to Rs.483 crore. The Minister said that foundation for a Ravindra Bharati type auditorium at MVP Colony would be laid on July 1.
