In spite of a proper fish market made available to the fish sellers as per their demand, the fisherwomen are seen selling fish from the roadside in front of the shops close to Bambooflat jetty. Fisherwomen sitting on the roadside to sell fish is resented by one and all, especially the shopkeepers who find many customers skipping their shops. Not only that, the free flow of traffic and pedestrians is obstructed and the visitors on the way to Mount Harriet via Bambooflat are put off, too. However, the fisherwomen have their own reason for transecting business from the roadside. “We sell the bigger variety of fish from the fish market since it requires a lot of cutting and cleaning. But we prefer to sell the smaller fish from close to the jetty where we attract customers heading for different destinations and have no time to go to the fish market. According to the cops, these fish sellers are shooed away time again but they return to the same place after a day or two. (EOIC)
