The 9th China International (Xiamen) Fisheries Expo concluded at the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Centre on 24th May.
The expo attracted nearly 300 exhibitors. Of which, domestic exhibitors accounted for 85% – half of the domestic exhibitors were from Fujian Province.
Meanwhile, 8 international organizations attended the fair, including the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa, the China-Britain Business Council, the Fisheries Association of Argentina, the Thailand-China Trade Promotion Association, the Korea-China Enterprise Alliance and the Pacific Island Countries Fisheries Association.
Covering an exhibition area of 20,000 square meters with 1,000 international booths, the expo is the largest of its kind in the southern China region, the 2nd largest in China only second to the Qingdao Fisheries Expo, and the fifth largest of its kind in the world, according to the organizing committee.
Two giant fishes weighing in at 220kg and 280kg respectively were auctioned off during the expo, and both of them were hauled from the open sea near Indonesia by a Fuzhou-based company.
