Australian and Pakistan naval vessels rescued 13 Iranian fisherman on Saturday just off the Pakistan coast, after their boat reportedly sank after being struck by another vessel, leaving them adrift for five days.

The guided missile frigate HMAS Darwin provided food, water, and medical care to the shipwrecked men until the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency Ship MSS Nusrat arrived to return them to shore.

Australia’s Joint Task Force 633 Commander, Major General Craig Orme, said the successful rescue showcased the strong relationship and ongoing cooperation with the Combined Maritime Forces and its coalition partners.
