The Committee on Fisheries (COFI) of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is the leading inter-governmental forum where international fisheries and aquaculture issues are examined. The Committee brings together policymakers, researchers, industry representatives and civil society groups from across the world to consider the latest initiatives, regulations and research in the areas of fisheries and aquaculture governance and development.

The Thirty-fourth Session of the Committee took place at the FAO headquarters in Rome, Italy, from 13 to 17 July 2020, after having been postponed due to the novel corona virus (COVID-19) pandemic. In light of this challenge, FAO hosted a series of virtual dialogues examining Fisheries and Aquaculture Governance and Development from 15-17 July 2020.
