Asia-Pacific Fishery Commission to hold Technical Webinar Series 2021 January 06,2021   |  Source: APFIC

Simon Funge-Smith, Secretary, Asia-Pacific Fishery Commission (APFIC), FAO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific has, in a letter, invited interested fishery and aquaculture stakeholders from APFIC member countries, regional fisheries organizations, NGO/CSO and private-sector participants to join a technical webinar series which will cover issues across marine and inland capture fisheries and aquaculture.

These webinars will be opened to registered participants in the form of technical presentations, feedback sessions and panel discussions by invited guests from regional organizations and member countries. The webinars will be recorded and will be made available for viewing online after the event.

APFIC works to improve understanding, awareness and co-operation in fisheries issues in the Asia-Pacific region. In this role, APFIC acts as a Regional Consultative Forum that works in partnership with other regional organizations and arrangements and members. It provides advice, co-ordinates activities, and acts as an information broker to increase knowledge of fisheries and aquaculture in the Asia-Pacific region to underpin decisionmaking.
