The Symposium on Gender in Aquaculture and Fisheries in India (GAF-India) will be held as part of the 11th Indian Fisheries and Aquaculture Forum, the premier event of the Asian Fisheries Society Indian Branch. India has a vibrant fisheries sector ranging from the very traditional to the large scale, with diverse value chains and with varying contributions of women and men to the sector. Women and gender studies grounded in Indian fisheries and aquaculture experiences have contributed significantly to global knowledge. A more intensive examination of Indian issues will have wide-ranging benefits in India, regionally and globally. The GAF-India event will engage with the themes of the IFAF, and suggest future priorities arising from its own gender themes. The format of the symposium will be organised under various topics, with each having oral and poster presentations.
In conjunction with GAF-India, an International Workshop on Challenges in the Implementation of the Voluntary Guidelines on Small Scale Fisheries (SSFVG) of FAO in South Asia will be held. With the new Guidelines approved, the real challenges for the small scale fisheries sector now lie in how effectively the Guidelines can be implemented and ways and means to sensitize all stakeholders in the fisheries sector to

178th Meeting of Expert Appraisal Committee for Projects Related To Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) to be held on 17th October, 2017 - All the documents such as Form-1, Pre-feasibility report, approval from the concerned State/UT Coastal Zone Management Authorities, Environment Impact Assessment Report, queries subsequently raised by the Ministry, if any, and para-wise comments thereto etc., in accordance with Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) Notification, 2011 are required to be forwarded to the Chairman/Members of the Expert Appraisal Committee and MoEFCC including details of the court matters/Orders of the Court pertaining to the project (if any). Accordingly, a copy of each of these documents - Hard and Soft Copies (in CD) shall be forwarded to the Chairman/members of the Expert Appraisal Committee and MoEFCC by speed post so as to reach the members well in time. Names and addresses of the Chairman/Members are enclosed. All the documents including the hard copy of the presentation material should be legible and printed on both sides on ordinary paper.
