Indian Legal Instruments
This section provides the full texts of marine fishing regulation Acts, Rules, Amendments to Acts, and subsequent Notifications enacted by the nine Indian coastal States -- Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Orissa, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal and the Union Territory of Lakshadweep. Various aspects are covered, such as the area reserved for artisanal fishing, resource management measures, and licence and registration fees applicable to different vessel categories.

While we have tried to include all subsequent notifications and amendments to the original pieces of legislation, that has not been possible in all cases. We have not been able to obtain the relevant legislation of the Union Territory of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The Union Territory of Pondicherry does not yet have a marine fishing regulation Act. Efforts are on to plug these gaps.
