Objectives

The aim of the workshop is to :

  • Identify, and promote understanding of, key issues in fisheries, aquaculture and coastal area development and management in the ESA region, to enable fishing communities and organizations working with them to negotiate for programmes and policies that will sustain and improve their livelihoods; and

  • Develop and strengthen networks of fishworker organizations,
    NGOs, community leaders and other stakeholders in coastal and inland fisheries in the ESA region.
